On the heels of wrapping up another iteration of a workshop about leaping, witnessing transitions among friends and family, I ask myself, when is my next leap? For my adventurous side it looks like booking flights without a reason—yet. For my stretch goals, at the moment it is pitching articles and cold e-mailing those I’d like to collaborate with. I am interested in connecting with folks who have created the space in their lives to wonder, be courageous, and enjoy.
Some times forging ahead requires a set of fresh eyes, a new approach. It may require us to be bold, experimental, and connect disparate parts of our lives. As someone who is persistent and curious, I am quick to follow up and follow through. In this moment I am excited and motivated to see my visions through. Those visions refine and take new shape day by day. I continue probing and seeking, especially when challenges arise. In a previous letter I alluded to a mantra I tell myself.
I am nimble, I am adaptable. I flow.
Athletes move in multiple planes of motion and have quick reflexes. We can evoke those qualities in our everyday lives by being willing to mobilize, pivot, and take action. How can you be flexible and mobilize on something that you have been putting off? This is a call to action.
Where can I stretch and grow? Asking ourselves the big questions about how we choose to spend our time, what are we willing to ask for, to demand from ourselves and others, requires wonder, space, and a willingness to try.
Today I offer you a tabla rasa, Latin for a blank slate.
